    Whilst less affected directly by the virus itself, the younger generation is highly impacted by the short-term impacts of the lockdown and the long-term impacts of the economic crisis.
    Millennials and Gen Z which form the ULI Young Leader group will have to adapt their skillset to reflect the demand of a changing world if they want to see their career continue to evolve. However, innovations emerge during times of crisis when societies are forced to re-invent the way things work. And younger generations are best positioned to take advantage and drive this spirit of innovation.
    With these challenges and opportunities in mind, ULI Young Leaders across Europe have curated a series of events designated to bring experts and also bring peers across Europe together to navigate a complex time in their careers. The format of the events will include a presentation and a more interactive smaller group discussion where young leaders from across Europe can share their experience. Participants can sign up for the entire series if they wish.
    Session 2: Opportunity to Learn – What Are Different Skills We Could Be Acquiring During a Lockdown? 6 July | 1.00pm - 2.00pm BST What technical skills should we be looking to acquire at home that can help us boost our career after the lockdown - financial modelling, design software? Should we be thinking about online executive education or part-time master's programmes and should we defer admission for full-time degrees. What are some tips for good webinars and ways to stay informed and on top of industry insights? How can we use hobbies and sports as ways to network?

    Steve Weikal MIT
    Steve Weikal is a lecturer, researcher, and the CRE Tech lead in the MIT Real Estate Innovation Lab, focused on innovative new technology and business models that disrupt the traditional ways of developing, transacting and managing real estate. He is also Head of Industry Relations at the MIT Center for Real Estate, responsible for managing relationships between the Center and its global network of industry partners and over 1,200 alumni, represented in 48 countries. Steve is a member of the Global Insights Panel for MIT Technology Review, a member of the CREtech Leadership Board, and sits on the advisory boards of five real estate technology start-ups. He was the Founder of MIT Real Disruption, a successful series of conferences discussing the impact of emerging technology on the real estate industry that is now part of the international CREtech conference platform. Steve has spoken extensively about real estate technology for private clients around the world, and at conferences for AFIRE, AsRES, ULI, IREM, SIOR, CCIM, CREW, CoreNet, ICSC and BOMA, and has been quoted by numerous media outlets, including BuzzFeed, TechInsider, the Boston Globe, GlobeSt. the Real Reporter, Travel Weekly, IPE Real Assets Europe and Anuario Inmobiliario LatinoAmerica. Steve holds a Master's of Science in Real Estate Development (MSRED) and Master's in City Planning (MCP) from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and a law degree from Suffolk University Law School.
      Jon H. Zehner Global Co-Head of Client Capital Group
    Jon Zehner joined LaSalle in March 2012 as Global Head of the Client Capital Group and is a member of LaSalle's Global Management Committee. With the hiring of Alok Gaur in Chicago in July 2016, Jon became Global Co-Head of the Client Capital Group. Based in London, he is jointly responsible for leading LaSalle's global activities relating to capital raising, new product development, merchant banking and large-scale, cross-border strategic investments. He is a member of the European Debt and Special Situations Investment Committee. Prior to joining LaSalle, Jon was a Senior Director AREA Property Partners where he was responsible for client relationships, deal origination and strategic development. Prior to AREA, Jon spent 28 years at JP Morgan, where he held a number of senior positions including Global Head of Real Estate Investment Banking and Head of sub-Saharan Africa. Jon is an active leader in several industry organisations. He currently serves as Chair of the Cambridge Land Economy Advisory Board of the University of Cambridge and is the immediate past European Chairman of the Urban Land Institute. He has served twice on the Global Board of Directors of ULI and remains a Trustee of the ULI. Past industry activities include founding and serving on the Executive Board of the European Public Real Estate Association (EPRA). He also served on the Board of Advisors of the John Sloan Dickey Center for International Understanding at Dartmouth and is the EMEA Co-Chair of Dartmouth's current capital campaign. He is a member of The Board of Governors of the Arnold House School in St. John's Wood in London. Jon holds an MBA from the Harvard Graduate School of Business Administration and an AB in Economics from Dartmouth College.

    Alexandra Jezeph, TFL
    Alexandra is part of the Property Development team working to transform TfL's real estate and deliver new housing for London. She works in the Major Projects and Pipeline team and is currently focused on bringing forward the development of 3 major sites in London to deliver new state-of-the art transport infrastructure along with c.1600 new homes. Prior to TfL, she worked for 11 years at JLL, initially in the Planning and Development Team, before moving to the City Investment and Living Capital Markets Teams.
    Alexandra is a Member of the RICS and the RTPI and a Fellow of the RSA. She is Co-Chair of the ULI UK Annual Conference and also a Non-Executive Director of the British think tank Bright Blue. Alexandra earned a BA in Geography from the University of Oxford and holds degrees in Spatial Planning, Urban Design and Real Estate from Oxford Brookes and Reading Universities.
